Julian Z. Yang

I completed my Honours Bachelor of Science at the University of Ottawa and obtained my Juris Doctor from Queen’s University. I was an editor for the Canadian Labour and Employment Law Journal, and a student caseworker for the Queen’s Family Law Clinic. I also participated in several legal writing competitions, and received honourable mention for the Phanor J. Eder prize in Comparative Law for my submission titled “Comparative Analysis of Merger Control under Chinese Anti-Monopoly Law”.
I interned at Dentons, China, where I provided a Canadian perspective to complement the team’s domestic expertise for a variety of corporate and international law files.
I articled and gained a great deal of Family Law and general Litigation experience as an Associate Lawyer with a prominent Family Lawyer in Hamilton. After moving to Toronto, I worked with a well respected Real Estate and Commercial Lawyer in Scarborough.
I was born in Shanghai, China and grew up in Germany and Canada. I am fluent in English, Mandarin, Shanghainese, and German.
